In 2003, the Bush administration ending a century old concurrent receipt offset (CRDP) at a cost to about almost $3B per year, and added a Combat - Related Special Compensation (CRSC) benefit that amounts to more than $1B annually. CRSC Under twenty has some support with the Services and the leverage for combat-disabled is high. Recently, many wounded Warriors from Iraq and Afghanistan have started to ask if they can apply for this benefit.

You would never know it because this important issue has been on the "back-burner" for many of the Military Associations, but the idea took hold with the help of a few Severely Injured soldiers in Pentagon, and a little VETSPAC assistance on the Hill.

Disabled retirees may get pay boost
The House and Senate Armed Services committees have agreed to extend concurrent receipt of full military retired and disability pay to people whose military service was cut short because of combat-related injuries. More »
